Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an organized, sequential response to cardiac arrest recognized by absent breathing and circulation. Prompt initiation of Basic life support with chest compression and rescue breathing are key to success.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-92b92e0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"92b92e0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCardiac arrest can occur anywhere (home, office, factory, public places like airport, cinema halls etc.) and anytime. Every onlooker, who witnesses it, should start CPR without delay and continue it till taken over by professionals. AEDs may be available in offices, factories and public places like airports and the same can be used by anybody by following the audio instructions.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b60d7ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b60d7ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Check that the area is safe, and then perform the following basic CPR steps<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ca3c965 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ca3c965\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Position your hand:<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0Make sure the patient is lying on his back on a firm surface. Kneel beside him and place the heel of your hand on the center of the chest.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99b1baf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"99b1baf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Interlock fingers:<\/strong>\u00a0Keeping your arms straight, cover the first hand with the heel of your other hand and interlock the fingers of both hands together. Keep your fingers raised so they do not touch the patient&#8217;s chest or rib cage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f6b5bd3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f6b5bd3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Give chest compressions:<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0Lean forward so that your shoulders are directly over the patient&#8217;s chest and press down on the chest about two inches. Release the pressure, but not your hands, and let the chest come back up.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-caf0cdd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"caf0cdd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Open the airway:<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0Move to the patient&#8217;s head. Tilt his head and lift his chin to open the airway again. Let his mouth fall open slightly.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d5f2b71 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d5f2b71\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Give rescue breaths:<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0Pinch the nostrils closed with the hand that was on the forehead and support the patient&#8217;s chin with your other hand. Take a normal breath, put your mouth over the patient&#8217;s, and blow until you can see his chest rise.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ba27d49 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ba27d49\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWatch chest fall. Remove your mouth from the patient&#8217;s and look along the chest, watching the chest fall. Repeat  above steps five and six once.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-515d5f1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"515d5f1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Repeat chest compressions and rescue breaths.<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0Place your hands on the chest again and repeat the cycle of 30 chest compressions, followed by two rescue breaths.
